  1. If this is the bike I think it is, this little gem had a twelve/thirteen year career. I think this one had a 3rd. place on the Island in '63 and I think she was retired in '66/'67. I am also led to believe the MV club made some disparaging remarks about the 'patina' encouraging the owner to 'tidy it up'! I am bound by decency not to publish the response!!

    1. I also believe this is one of only four, this having a magnesium engine.
      It is also possibly one of the loudest bikes I've ever heard!

  2. This belonged to a friend and mentor of mine, the late 'Mole' Benn.
    I can confirm your anecdote regarding the M.V. club's actions when this bike was on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Mole went for a cup of tea to find this super little bike had been moved to the back of the MV tent... Yes, Mole was quite cutting in his response...
